About Bodø
Bodø was granted township status as early as 1816, and is now the county capital of Nordland with a population of 47.000 people. The city lies just north of the Arctic Circle, and in a period of the summer we can see the midnight sun if the weather allows us to! Another thing worth noticing; as Bergen is the most rainy city in Norway, Bodø is the most windy – for real!
Bodø is well- known for its beautiful surroundings. Sights and sees like Saltstraumen; the worlds strongest maelstrom, Landegode and Kjerringøy are all popular among tourist heading north for the summer.
Bodø is a communications centre. The airport, the harbor and the railway station are all within walking distance of each other. So getting here is the easiest thing in the world!

Parkenfestivalen was arranged for the first time in the fall of 2006. Parkenfestivalen is located in a park in the center of Bodø city, in the north of Norway. The venue has a capacity of about 8000, and Parkenfestivalen has managed to be sold out every year from the first time the event took place.
